2024 NB Selects Coaches Announced / Annonce des entraîneurs des NB Selects 2024

September 1st - Softball New Brunswick is happy to introduce our Head Coaches of the 2024 NB Selects High Performance Programs. Each of these coaches will lead their teams as they train to compete at their respective Canadian Fast Pitch Championships next summer. 

Cameron Rogers, U15 Girls

• Cameron Rogers is a first time coach with the NB Selects program. Her coaching portfolio encompasses both softball and volleyball. She most recently comes off a strong season with the Fredericton Twins U15 Girls 'AA' program, that made an appearance at the Eastern Canadian Softball Championships in Châteauguay, QC. 

Allan Hilchie, U17 Girls

• Allan Hilchie is also a first year NB Selects coach. With a notable playing career, and recent season with the Oromocto Silverbacks U17 Girls 'AA' program, he is eager to translate his knowledge and experience to a new group of athletes.

Dan Mersereau, U19 Women's

• Dan Mersereau is our most seniored NB Selects coach, with 2024 being his third year in the program. After two previous seasons with both the U17 boys and U17 girls programs, he is eager to take on a new challenge being at the helm of the U19 Women's program. Dan's long time playing and coaching background makes him a great fit for the program, and has recently also been appointed the Head Coach of the 2025 Canada Summer Games Women's program.

Bobby Despres, U20 Men's

• Bobby Despres is a first time coach with the NB Selects, but is no stranger to the ball field. His coaching background ranges from grassroots to the national level and also has a decorated playing career, and has served as the Softball NB Coaching Coordinator on the Board of Directors for several terms. Bobby is the ideal candidate for the position with the first year U20 Men's team. He has also recently been named the Head Coach of the 2025 Canada Summer Games Men's program.

We look forward to working with each of these tryouts over the next 12 months. Tryouts for the NB Selects camp begin later in the month of September. Registration launches tomorrow, September 2nd at 10:00am. Stay tuned for more information and the registration link!

1er septembre - Softball Nouveau-Brunswick est heureux de présenter nos entraîneurs en chef des programmes de haute performance NB Selects 2024. Chacun de ces entraîneurs dirigera leurs équipes alors qu'elles s'entraîneront pour participer à leurs Championnats canadiens de balle rapide respectifs l'été prochain.

Cameron Rogers, filles U15

• Cameron Rogers est entraîneur pour la première fois au sein du programme NB Selects. Son portefeuille d'entraîneur englobe à la fois le softball et le volleyball. Elle a récemment connu une bonne saison avec le programme féminin AA des Fredericton Twins, qui a fait une apparition aux Championnats de softball de l'Est du Canada à Châteauguay, QC.

Allan Hilchie, filles U17

• Allan Hilchie est également entraîneur de première année des NB Selects. Avec une carrière de joueur remarquable et une récente saison avec le programme féminin AA des Oromocto Silverbacks U17, il est impatient de mettre ses connaissances et son expérience au service d'un nouveau groupe d'athlètes.

Dan Mersereau, U19 féminin

• Dan Mersereau est notre entraîneur le plus expérimenté des NB Selects, 2024 sera sa troisième année dans le programme. Après deux saisons précédentes avec les programmes U17 garçons et U17 filles, il est impatient de relever un nouveau défi en étant à la tête du programme U19 féminin. La longue expérience de Dan en tant que joueur et entraîneur fait de lui un candidat idéal pour le programme et a récemment également été nommé entraîneur-chef du programme féminin des Jeux d'été du Canada 2025.

Bobby Despres, U20 hommes

• Bobby Despres est entraîneur pour la première fois avec les NB Selects, mais il n'est pas étranger au terrain de balle. Son expérience d'entraîneur s'étend du niveau local au niveau national et a également une carrière de joueur couronnée de succès. Il a été coordonnateur des entraîneurs de Softball NB au sein du conseil d'administration pendant plusieurs mandats. Bobby est le candidat idéal pour le poste au sein de l'équipe masculine U20 de première année. Il a également récemment été nommé entraîneur-chef du programme masculin des Jeux d'été du Canada 2025.

Nous sommes impatients de travailler avec chacun de ces essais au cours des 12 prochains mois. Les essais pour le camp des NB Selects commencent plus tard au mois de septembre.
