2025 Canada Summer Games Coaching Women's Announcement

Tracyville, NB - Softball New Brunswick is pleased to annouce Dan Mersereau as the Head Coach of the 2025 Canada Summer Games Women's program.

Dans contribution to the game of softball is multi facet. His experience includes playing, coaching, officiating, and serving as a board member with Softball New Brunswick in a variety of positions, currently as Vice President. His portfolio includes coaching in both the male and female game, from U12-U19. Over the last two years, he's served as Head Coach with both the U17 Boy's and U17 Girls NB Selects Provincial Team program, and most recently led the his Oromocto Silverbacks to a gold medal at the 2023 Eastern Canadian Softball Championships. We are optimistic that his diverse softball background will lead to significant strides in the development of our athletes and to the success of the program. We at Softball NB are looking forward to working with him, says Executive Director, Hillary Pineau.

Dan looks forward to getting started with the program this fall and leading a strong pool of athletes as they train to represent the province of NB.

The Canada Summer Games will be held in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, from August 8-24th, 2025  and is the largest multisport competition in Canada. This event will feature 10 of the best U19 Women's softball teams from across the country.

Tracyville, NB - Softball Nouveau-Brunswick est heureux d'annoncer Dan Mersereau comme entraîneur-chef du programme féminin des Jeux d'été du Canada 2025.

Sa contribution au softball est multiforme. Son expérience comprend jouer, entraîner, arbitre et servir en tant que membre du conseil d'administration de Softball Nouveau-Brunswick dans divers postes, actuellement en tant que vice-président. Son portefeuille comprend l'entraînement du softball masculin et féminin, des U12 à U19. Au cours des deux dernières années, il a été entraîneur-chef du programme de l'équipe provinciale des NB Selects (garçons U17 et les filles U17), et a récemment mené ses Silverbacks d'Oromocto à une médaille d'or aux Championnats de softball de l'Est du Canada 2023. Nous sommes optimistes que son expérience diversifiée en softball mènera à des progrès significatifs dans le développement de nos athlètes et au succès du programme. Chez Softball NB, nous sommes impatients de travailler avec lui, a déclaré la directrice générale, Hillary Pineau.

Dan a hâte de commencer le programme cet automne et de diriger un solide bassin d'athlètes alors qu'ils s'entraînent pour représenter la province du Nouveau-Brunswick.

Les Jeux d'été du Canada auront lieu à St. John's, à Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador, du 8 au 24 août 2025 et constituent la plus grande compétition multisports au Canada. Cet événement mettra en vedette 10 des meilleures équipes de softball féminin U19 de tout le pays.
