Softball Canada is pleased to announce that eight umpires have received their Level V certification in 2019.
The Canadian Women’s National team punched its ticket to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games with a 7-0 run-rule win over Brazil at the 2019 WBSC Softball Americas Qualifier

At the recent Softball Canada Congress a proposal to implement a one-year trial of these two new rules was discussed at several workshops and unanimously approved at the Annual General Meeting. This trial will be effective January 1, 2018!

For all new coaches to softball (no previous softball NCCP training), the Foundations of Coaching Softball (FOCS) – Part 1 online module will be a pre-requisite for the Community Softball stream of coaching. Coaches must complete this before they can obtain Community Softball Trained status on their NCCP transcript.
For all coaches wanting to take the Softball Competition Introduction coaching clinics, the Foundations of Coaching Softball (FOCS) – Part 1 & Part 2 online modules are a pre-requisite.

Foundations of Coaching Softball – Part 1 is designed for all coaches starting their coaching career. It provides an orientation to becoming a coach within Softball Canada’s National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP), as well as an introduction to long-term player development, safety considerations, and working with players and parents
– The Part 2 module will cost $15.00 (75-90 mins to complete)
Foundations of Coaching Softball – Part 2 is designed for all coaches in their coaching career, and builds off Foundations of Coaching Softball – Part 1. It covers the coaching process, long-term player development, teaching methods, and individual skill development.
